ABILENE, Texas – McMurry's women's tennis team got a split in Friday's tandem of non-conference matches, falling to St. Mary's, 8-1, and rebounding to blank College of the Southwest, 9-0, in the nightcap.
Chelsea Miller, playing at fourth singles, registered the War Hawk's lone win against NCAA II St. Mary's. Miller lost the first set of the day, 3-6 and was ahead in the second, 3-2 when Huong Huynh was unable to continue and retired from the match.
The War Hawks' were dominating versus College of the Southwest.
McMurry won all six singles matches in straight sets. Playing at the Nos. 1-6 positions – in order – were
Dana LeMieux, Sonia Del Heirro,
Lacey Krusmark, Miller,
Brandy Curry and
Autumn Patterson were all victorious. LeMieux and Curry did not drop a game in their matches, winning 6-0, 6-0.
The War Hawks swept al three doubles matches for the final 9-0 score.
