Volleyball Posts Third-Straight Sweep

HOBBS, N.M. – The McMurry volleyball program improved their record to 10-4 on the season as they defeated the University of the Southwest 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-23) on Tuesday evening.

The War Hawks led soundly throughout the contest as they defeated their third straight opponent in straight sets, having defeated Dallas Christian College and Dallas Baptist University by 3-0 scores last week.

The War Hawks were led by ten kills apiece from M.J. Vickers and Kasi Conners, and Kayla Hines added six in the contest. Peyton Evans dished out 28 assists in the three sets and defensively Ayssa Garcia anchored the defense with 24 digs.

The War Hawks will be back in action on Thursday October 4 when they return to Kimbrell Arena to take on Texas-Permian Basin. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
