LONGVIEW, Texas – McMurry University surrendered three-second half goals to fall to LeTourneau University 4-1 in American Southwest Conference action Friday night.
Sheharyar Khan scored his fifth goal of the season in the 19
th minute of the match.
The War Hawks were outshot in the contest 19-10 only landing three shots on goal. McMurry goalie
Rey Arriaga recorded nine saves on the day allowing the four Yellow Jacket goals.
Khan's only took one of McMurry's 10 shots and was able to beat LeTourneau's goalie unassisted. Khan leads the team with five goals on the season. The eventual game winner came in the 56
th minute of the match by Edwin Raudales assisted from Ben Stoeckmann. Stoeckmann added his own goal on a free kick in the 64
th minute of the match. The Yellow Jackets added goals in the 3
rd and 68
th minute of the match.
The loss drops McMurry to 2-15 on the season and 1-11 in ASC play going into their final match of the season Saturday at 6 p.m. against East Texas Baptist University. The win moves LeTourneau to 6-8-2 overall with a 6-4 conference record.
