LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to eek out a 10-9 win over McMurry Monday afternoon in American Southwest Conference crossover action from Conrad Vernon Field.
The loss drops McMurry to 10-9 on the year. McMurry will look to rebound on Tuesday when they head to Sherman, Texas, to take on Austin College in a single game slated to start at 2 p.m.
McMurry took a 9-8 lead going into the bottom of the ninth inning before the Yellow Jackets loaded the bases with only one out in the last half inning. Joshua Walker was then able to score off an RBI groundout to third by Bick Webking, which tied the game at nine. The next batter, Josh Brown, then ended the game as he hit an RBI base hit to center field, which allowed Joey Ramos to score the winning run from third.
McMurry used six pitchers in the game as
Dakota Smith took the loss as he pitched 1.2 innings and surrendered two runs on three hits. LeTourneau used seven different pitchers with Chris Tampke getting the win off his one inning of scoreless pitching in the top of the ninth.

Gerad Morris finished the game 2 for 6 from the plate with one of those hits being his second home run of the year, which he hit to leadoff the game in the top of the first. McMurry shortstop
Tre Lips also homered (his third of the year) in the top of the sixth. Lips finished the game 2 for 4 with three runs scored and two RBI. McMurry first baseman
Stephen Derrick also went 2 for 4 with two RBI, while rightfielder
Jake Mullin finished the game 2 for 4 with three RBI.
The win proves LeTourneau to 5-9.
