SEGUIN - The No. 6-ranked McMurry women won by its largest margin of victory Saturday afternoon in a 79-39 win over Texas Lutheran at Memorial Gymnasium. Tarra Richardson scored 22 points and grabbed 10 boards in her first game since becoming the American Southwest Conference's all-time leading scorer. Allison Nelson scored 12 points and was the only other player in double figures for McMurry.

No player played more than 25 minutes and every player on McMurry's roster played at least five minutes. Every player scored except Kelsey Curry. The visitors shot 55.6 percent from the floor and hit 50 percent of its 3-point attempts at 6 of 12.

However, the Bulldogs weren't as successful shooting only 26.2 percent for the game. TLU remains winless on the seasons as the Lady Bulldogs fell to 0-17 overall and 0-13 in the ASC. Jessica Macias scored 18 points off the bench to lead the home team in the loss.

McMurry's defense, which began to empty its bench with around 10 minutes left in the second half kept TLU to only 14 second-half points and a dismal 5 of 31 from the field. Madliyn Caran added 12 points in the losing effort for TLU.

McMurry has now posted 14 consecutive victories after falling to Birmingham Southern in the third game of the season. The team will try to chase the school record of 18-straight wins set in 2005-06 when the team went 18-0 to begin the year

Perhaps the biggest game in the ASC takes place Thursday in Brownwood, as the No. 6 McMurry will face No. 2-ranked Howard Payne who holds a flawless 16-0 record. Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
