McMurry Athletics hired Allison Eggena as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in October of 2020. Eggena is ATC and LAT certified.
Eggena enters her sixth year as a certified athletic trainer. She previously worked two seasons as an intern at Abilene Christian University and now enters her third year with McMurry.
In her first season, Eggena served as the primary athletic trainer for McMurry's track and field, cross country and golf programs while also working with the football program. Eggena traveled to the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina and served as the primary AT for six athletes. She did the same thing in 2022 for eight national championship competitors in Geneva, Ohio.
While at ACU, Eggena oversaw the medical needs of the indoor and beach volleyball programs. She also assisted in the coverage of the tennis program, supervised and mentored athletic training students in the Master's program and fulfilled the day-to-day duties of the athletic training office.
Prior to ACU, Eggena helped a wide variety of sports as a student at Southeast Missouri State University, including volleyball, football, track and field, men's and women's basketball, women's soccer, gymnastics and tennis. She also worked events for Notre Dame High School.
Eggena completed her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Southeast Missouri State in May 2018, graduating Summa Cum Laude and minoring in nutrition. She recently finished her Master of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) in Fall 2020.
