Will Sherman joined the McMurry University women's basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2017-18 season.  Sherman came to the War Hawks after working under the tutelage of renowned women’s basketball coach Jane Albright at the University of Nevada, Reno.
 
Sherman, a native of Reno, Nevada, is also a graduate of Nevada, where Albright is the head coach. In all, Sherman spent five seasons assisting the Wolf Pack women’s hoops program in various capacities between 2012-17.  Some of his duties included helping in the preparation of scouting reports and practice plans, assisting with individual and group workouts, and team administrative travel planning.
 
Additionally, Sherman concurrently assisted at his high school alma mater (Galena H.S.) with the boys’ basketball program for four years (2012-16), as well.  He was also a volunteer coach at the Raegan Pebley TCU Basketball camp in 2017.
 
“I am excited to add Will Sherman to our women’s basketball staff,” Densman-Roes said. “What immediately impressed me with Will was his high standard of moral character, as well as his servant leadership quality. He has a strong desire to serve others and have a positive impact on our scholar-athletes through the game of basketball.  Will’s energy and character will be a great asset to our program in ‘Developing Champions for Life’.”
 
On the personal, side, Sherman played both basketball and Lacrosse as a prep at Galena High School, before continuing his education at Nevada. He has volunteered time in the youth ministry at Hope Community church and has been on three mission trips to Spanish Lookout in Belize.  He is the son of Bill and Stephanie Sherman.
