Hope Schoeneman

One of the cornerstones in the foundation of the McMurry Unviersity Softball program, Hope Schoeneman joined the War Hawks coaching staff as a student assistant coach prior to the Spring 2021 season.

Previously, Schoeneman was a two-year standout pitcher for the War Hawks, earning all-conference honors.

In her first season as an assistant, Schoeneman led the team to a 3.67 ERA and mentored sophomore Kinleigh Stotts to second team all-conference honors. Additionally, Stotts earned back-to-back-to-back ASC West Pitcher of the Week awards and a 9-3 record with seven complete games and a 2.68 ERA.

In her second season, the pitching staff improved to a strong 2.93 ERA, nearly one full point lower than McMurry's opponents (combined 3.87 ERA). Jenna Lewis and Kinleigh Stotts both represented McMurry on the top three all-conference teams and McMurry was one of four teams (ETBU, Belhaven, UMHB) to have two pitchers on the top three all-conference teams.

Schoeneman's third year on head coach David McNally's saw the staff record better than 150 strikeouts and a remarkable 30 complete games. Lewis earned all-league honors for a second time and picked up a pair of loop Pitcher of the Week accolades, while Stotts and freshman Baylee Fulps were honorable mention all-conference awardees.
