MEN'S & WOMEN'S GOLF
The Diamondback Golf Club is the playing and practice facility for men’s and women’s golf at McMurry University.
Diamondback Golf Club opened on November 1, 1999. The course was designed, built and is operated by 1971 Masters Champion, Charles Coody, who resides in Abilene, Texas. Situated on 220 acres of rolling terrain with Lytle Creek meandering through the golf course, many beautiful, scenic views are created by the natural changes of elevation.
The par 71 course will play to almost 7,000 yards from the championship tees, 6,525 from the regular tees, 6,025 yards from the legends tees and 5,025 from the forward tees. The greens are seeded with Dominant Plus strain of bent grass while the fairways, tees and rough are Tifway 419 Bermuda grass.
