Born May 29, 1995 in New Braunfels, Texas … Son of Mark and Wendy Gettys … Has one brother and one sister, both younger … His father played basketball at Hardin-Simmons ... His uncle, Reid Gettys, played basketball at the University of Houston and was point guard for the famed “Phi Slama Jama” Cougars’ teams that made three-consecutive NCAA Final Four appearances (1982-84) … Grandfather (Marshall Gettys) was a football player at Texas Tech (1946-49) ... Has volunteered on several mission trips with his home church youth group … A business management major.
