2026-27 Women’s Wrestling Schedule Release

ABILENE, Texas - The McMurry University Department of Athletics has released the 2026-27 women's wrestling schedule. McMurry opens another season competing in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) as an affiliate member.

"Taking the reins of this women's wrestling program is an opportunity I'm incredibly excited about, and I believe we have a bright future ahead of us. With the competition we have lined up for the 2026–27 season, we're going to have plenty of opportunities to challenge ourselves and grow as a team. Our goal is to build a program that isn't afraid to face tough competition and is willing to put in the work necessary to succeed. I'm excited to get after it with these young women, push them to reach their full potential, and establish a foundation of hard work, accountability, and competitive excellence. We're ready to embrace the challenge and make our presence felt on the mat," head coach Andy Garza said.

The season officially begins with the Luther Hill Invitational on Nov. 1 in Indianola, Iowa. The War Hawks then continue their opening month on the road, traveling to the Viking Open in Poteau, Oklahoma, on Nov. 6 and the Tech Tiger Open in Goodland, Kansas, on Nov. 28.

December gets underway with a trip to Storm Lake, Iowa, for the BVU Open on Dec. 5. McMurry returns to Texas for dual competition to close out 2026, heading to the Lone Star Duals in Plainview on Dec. 13 and the Schreiner Duals in Kerrville on Dec. 16.

January brings a competitive slate across multiple states, opening in Montgomery, Alabama, for the Hawk Duals on Jan. 9 and the Hawk Classic Open on Jan. 10. The War Hawks next visit Mount Vernon, Iowa, for the Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational on Jan. 16 before heading to Denton, Texas, for a road dual against Texas Woman's University on Jan. 20. McMurry closes the month by welcoming Tarleton State University to Kimbrell Arena for its home opener on Jan. 27.

The War Hawks remain at Kimbrell Arena to begin February, hosting the University of North Texas on Feb. 3. McMurry then heads to Borger, Texas, for a Tri-Meet against Frank Phillips College and Trinidad State College on Feb. 5, followed immediately by the Frank Phillips College Open on Feb. 6.

Postseason action commences on Feb. 12 at the SLIAC Championship Tournament in Eureka, Illinois. From there, the War Hawks will head to Dubuque, Iowa, for the NCAA Region VI Championships on Feb. 26.

The 2027 NCAA Division III Championships are scheduled for March 12 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
