ABILENE- The McMurry softball team was able to get back to their winning ways as they secured a sweep over Schreiner in a 3-game conference series at home over the weekend. 
The War Hawks improved to 3-5 overall (also 3-5 in conference play). McMurry was able to put themselves back in the mix as they look to build on the series win to move up in the standings. 
McMurry scored 22 runs on 23 hits in the series as they were able to dominate each of the 3 games. They outscored Schreiner by a score of 22-3. 
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE- The War Hawk defense was in lockdown mode in the series as they only allowed 3 runs throughout the entire weekend. They gave up 16 hits but with the combination of strong pitching & solid defense they were able to keep them off of the score board for the most part. 
GAME 1 - McMurry was able to take game 1 in a shutout as they won this contest 8-0. They scored 8 runs on 8 hits while recording no errors in a contest that only took 5 innings to decide. 
GAME 2 - In another 5 inning game, McMurry once again had control from start to finish. McMurry was able to win this one 10-2. They scored 10 runs on 7 hits with just 1 error. 
GAME 3 - This one was low scoring compared to the other 2 games, and would be the only game that went the distance as the teams played a full 7 innings. McMurry would go on to win the game by a score of 4-1 as they scored 4 runs on 8 hits with 1 error. 
STAT LEADERS- Baylee Fulps, Rexie Sanders, & Emmalee Gebhart were the 3 winning pitchers on the weekend for the War Hawks. Trista Brown, Mercedes Camacho, & Morgan Faubion were the leaders at the plate over the weekend. 
McMurry is back in action this weekend as they take on Trinity in a 3 game conference series at home as they look to continue their winning streak.
