SAN ANTONIO- McMurry softball traveled to San Antonio to take on Trinity in a weekend series on the road as they looked to improve their position in the conference standings.Â
GAME 1 - This game had its fair share of excitement and offense. The two teams combined for 20 runs on 19 hits. McMurry had 4 errors in the field, while Trinity had 0. The game was tied at 2 after the first 2 innings before both teams exploded for 7 runs in the 3rd inning. After 3, Trinity led 6-5. McMurry tried to get over the hump through the next 4 innings but were unable to make up the ground as Trinity went on to win by a score of 12-8.  McMurry scored 8 runs on 7 hits with 4 errors. Aliyah Tanguna had 2 hits with 3 RBI's.Â
GAME 2- Trinity jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame before getting 3 more in the second inning. After 2, the Tigers led 5-0. Trinity would get 2 more in the 4th. McMurry was able to hold them off the rest of the game but were unable to score enough runs of their own as their late rally fell short and the Tigers went on to win by a score of 7-3. McMurry scored 3 runs on 5 hits with 3 errors. Trista Brown had 2 RBI's.Â
GAME 3- The War Hawks looked to get a win in game 3 before heading back to Abilene but the Trinity pitching and defense would once again be stingy as McMurry was only able to get 2 runs across in this one. Trinity scored 5 in the second inning to take control of the game early on as McMurry had to work from behind throughout the entire game. Trinity would win this one 7-2. McMurry scored 2 runs on 7 hits with 1 error. Sabrina Graf had 2 hits with an RBI.Â
The War Hawks will look to get back on track as they take on Southwestern in another conference weekend series as they hit the road to Georgetown for the first contest to start on Friday at 3:00PM.Â
