Women's Basketball shines in win over Austin College

ABILENE- McMurry women's basketball picked up another conference win as they take down Austin College at home to get to 2-0 on the weekend.

McMurry improves to 18-4 overall & 11-2 in conference play with the win, while Austin College dropped to 7-15 overall & 3-11 in conference play with the loss.

The War Hawks were in control of the game from the very beginning as they took a monstrous 28-2 lead into the end of the first quarter.

The Kangaroos would try to climb their way back into the contest as they would outscore McMurry in the second quarter by a score of 24-19, but the big lead would prove to be too much to overcome.

McMurry outscore Austin in the final 2 quarters – 20-16 in the 3rd and 20-9 in the fourth.

The War Hawks started and finished the game extremely strong with strong quarters in the 1st & 4th.

McMurry was led by Emily Holland with 20 points, followed by Aryana Cleveland with 10 points, while Austin College was led by Maya Dodson with 17 points.

The War Hawks are back in action on Tuesday at home against Concordia in a big game as they look to avenge the 7 point loss to the Tornados earlier this month in Austin. Tip off for Tuesday is scheduled for 5:30pm.
