Chadwick Erupts for 27 as McMurry Dominates Sul Ross State

ALPINE, TX - The War Hawks secured a definitive 73-59 victory over Sul Ross State University on Tuesday night, showcasing their offensive depth and defensive grit at the Pete P. Gallego Center.
The War Hawks established control early, setting a physical tone that kept the Lobos off balance throughout the evening. McMurry's defensive intensity translated into transition opportunities, allowing them to build a lead that remained intact despite several comeback attempts from the home team. The senior leadership of the squad was on full display as they navigated the road environment with composure and execution.
Helana Chadwick delivered a remarkable performance, leading all scorers with 27 points. Her efficiency was a major factor in the win as she connected on 10 of 16 shots from the field while going 6-for-7 from the free-throw line. Beyond her scoring, Chadwick filled the stat sheet with five assists and four rebounds, acting as the primary engine for the McMurry offense.
Jordan Bravo provided a major spark from the perimeter, finishing the night with 13 points. Bravo was lethal from beyond the arc, sinking three triples and consistently finding ways to penetrate the Lobos' defense. She also contributed significantly on the defensive end, leading the team with four steals and two blocks while securing six rebounds.
Aryana Cleveland rounded out the top performers with a steady double-digit outing, tallying 12 points. Cleveland was highly efficient near the basket, shooting 5-of-9 from the floor. She was also active on the glass, pulling down five rebounds to help McMurry maintain its physical edge in the paint.
The War Hawks' defense was the story of the night, forcing Sul Ross State into difficult shots and capitalizing on turnovers. The team's ability to share the ball resulted in 14 total assists, ensuring that the offense remained fluid and unpredictable.
