ABILENE – McMurry hits the road for the first time this week, visiting Hendrix in Conway, Ark., Monday night at 7:30 and Rhodes in Memphis at 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The War Hawks finish the weekend on Sunday at the University of Dallas at 1 p.m.
 
The War Hawks are 1-0 on the season.
 
McM STORYLINES
 
GOING FOR TWO: The War Hawks are seeking a 2-0 record with the trip to Hendrix on Monday. It would be the second season in a row for McMurry to start at 2-0 but also just the second time in the last 10 seasons to get back-to-back wins to open the year.
 
RECAP: McMurry opened women's soccer season with an impressive 7-0 win over Lyon on Friday. Seven different War Hawks put the ball in the net and four goalkeepers combined for the clean sheet. It was McMurry's best-scoring game since 2019 when the War Hawks scored seven goals twice.
 
SPREADING THE WEALTH: Seven different War Hawks put the ball in the net in the season opener: Emily Holland, Hailey Donaldson, Cate Tempelmeyer, McKenna Standifer, Kaylee Worth, Hailey Graham and Jaelynn Portillo. McM also had assists from Standifer, Laila Brown, Alexis Lira, Haylie Blakley and Ava Ybarra. Eleven War Hawks were involved in the scoring.
 
CLEAN SHEET x 4: McMurry put four keepers in goal in the season opener. Kaitlyn Gustafson got the win and the only save. Lauren Marlow, Nana Torres and Avery Anders also got combined shutout credit.
 
HENDRIX HISTORY: McMurry won the lone previous match with the Warriors, 2-0, in 2019.
 
SCOUTING THE WARRIORS: Hendrix opened its season on Saturday with a 2-1 win at home against the University of Dallas. Farrah Hopkins and Madison Lampkin had goals while Brooke Woods and Camy McKenzie added assists. Hendrix was 12-7-1 last season. Lampkin had 10 goals last season.
 
FIRST MEETING: The game at Rhodes will be McMurry's first women's soccer game against the Lynx.
 
SCOUTING THE LYNX: Tuesday's game will be the season opener for Rhodes. The Lynx were 11-5-2 last season. Sophia Rall had 13 goals last season while Megan Propp added nine goals and seven assists, Mary Gale Godwin had eight goals and Grace Culver contributed six goals and six assists. All four are back this season.

HISTORY WITH UD: McMurry is 1-0-2 in the last three meetings with the Crusaders, including a 1-1 tie last season. Emily Holland had McM's goal last year in Irving.

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS: Dallas lost its season opener last weekend at Hendrix, 2-1. Mirriam Skinner had the goal. UD was 6-10-1 last season. The Crusaders host Millsaps on Friday before taking on the War Hawks.
