This Week in McM Women's Soccer

ABILENE – McMurry Women's Soccer is on the road this week, visiting Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Schreiner at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
 
The War Hawks are 4-4 on the season as they open the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule.
 
McMurry Storylines
 
Holland Numbers: McMurry's Emily Holland leads the SCAC with six goals, three game-winning goals and 0.75 goals per game this season. She also is first in shots on goal per game at 2.00 and second in shots per game at 4.63.
 
Loads of Scorers: Ten War Hawks have put the ball in the net this season. Along with Holland's six, McMurry has a goal each from Haylie Blakley, Jaelynn Portillo, McKenna Standifer, Cate Tempelmeyer, Hailey Donaldson, Hailey Graham, Brooklyn Grove, Grace Singleton and Kaylee Worth.
 
And Loads of Help: Nine McMurry players have registered an assist this season: Holland, Blakley Portillo, Standifer, Tempelmeyer, Laila Brown, Emery Kirby, Alexis Lira and Ava Ybarra.
 
Keeper: Kaitlyn Gustafson has logged a team-leading 392 minutes in goal this season. She allows 1.61 goals per game and leads the War Hawks with 16 saves.
 
About Trinity: This will be the second meeting in the series with Trinity winning in 2021, 3-0, in San Antonio. The Tigers are 4-1-2 this season after a 1-0 win at Virginia Wesleyan. Bri Werner and Madisyn Bargsanski lead Trinity with three goals each and Michaela Bosco has five assists. Lauryn Lewis allows 0.62 goals per game with 13 saves.
 
About Schreiner: Schreiner is 1-5-1 this season after a 2-0 loss at Texas Lutheran. The Mountaineers play at Concordia on Friday. Katelyn Boyd has two goals and Abby Rocha has the team's one assist. Hope Skelton allows two goals per game and has 28 saves. McMurry is 7-11-2 all-time against Schreiner and on a four-game series win streak. McM won 3-1 last season. Holland scored twice and Portillo once in that contest.
