FAST STARTING UT-DALLAS TOPPLES WAR HAWKS

DALLAS, TEXAS – Senior guard Remy Minor concluded a memorable 48-point three-day span, and sophomore forward/center T.J. Hilliard came off the bench for a big evening Monday, Feb. 6. Still, it wasn't enough for McMurry University to deliver an American Southwest Conference road triumph.

The host Comets, protecting their home UT-Dallas Activity Center court, got out of the gate fast and didn't look back in winning for the 13th time in 14 league match-ups. UT-D led 17-7 and continued to build toward a 105-79 final.

Minor guided head coach Zach Pickelman's squad with 22 points as part of a double-double against the conference leaders. He added ten assists, the most in a game for a Maroon, Black, and White scholar-athlete since he dished out 12 during the 2020-21 campaign. Hilliard put up 20 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and picked up three steals to lead a 31-point output from the reserves, in which junior guard/forward Rob Charles (Houston, Texas) put in 11 points. Junior forward/center Elias Garcia (Houston, Texas) chipped in a fourth double-figure scoring effort with 15 points to go with six rebounds and four steals.

The War Hawks (6-15 overall, 5-9 ASC) continue a three-game week with a visit to crosstown league rival Hardin-Simmons Thursday, Feb. 9. Game time is 6 p.m. at HSU's Mabee Complex.
