BELTON, TEXAS – Senior forward/center
Destiny Mathews (Palestine, Texas) reeled off her third straight and fourth double-digit point total in the last five outings, leading McMurry University Saturday, Jan. 14.
Mathews, posting her third 20-points-or-more effort of 2022-23, wound up with 21 over a tireless 38-minute performance that included seven rebounds and only one turnover. She was at the forefront of a tenacious 40 minutes put together by head coach Drew Long's team against Women's Basketball Coaches Association top 15-ranked Mary-Hardin-Baylor.
McMurry led by as much as four in the first half and kept the host Crusaders within 10 points throughout the afternoon inside Mayborn Campus Center. The War Hawks managed to close to as little as two (52-50) in the final frame before the home team answered with six straight points, which enabled them to move towards a 71-60 victory.

Emily Holland resumed her impressive 2022-23 campaign., The Mansfield, Texas, native reached double figures for the 14
th time in 15 games, totaling 18 points. Holland drained three three-pointers during the afternoon and also dished out four assists.
