LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – Junior goalkeeper
Priscella Caruso's stellar start to the 2022 campaign continued Sunday, Sept. 4.
After blanking in-state rival Texas Lutheran University for a half Sept 1, the Tomball, Texas, native kept head coach
Charles Nobles' team neck-and-neck with Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Occidental College throughout a large share of the War Hawk's California trip opener. Caruso compiled seven saves in the midst of a 14-6 shots advantage for the home-standing Tigers.
Junior defender
McKenna Standifer (Flower Mound, Texas) rattled off a pair of shots on Oxy's net but neither got past their net minders. Caruso was equal to her counterpart's outing until a goal in the final 20 minutes sent Occidental to a 1-0 decision.
Nobles' squad concludes its two-match tour of the West Coast Tuesday, Sept. 6. They face off against Chapman, also a SCIAC member, at 6 p.m. Central Standard Time.
