ABILENE, TEXAS – In just under four minutes Saturday, Dec. 3, six games worth of frustration for McMurry University was washed away.
With LeTourneau University leading throughout the first 20 minutes and building on that deficit early in the second stanza, head coach Zach Pickelman's team needed a spark. It occurred with a 19-2 stretch from the 18:02 to 14:14 marks. From that point forward, try as they might, with a couple of responding runs, the YellowJackets couldn't put away their hosts.
McMurry delivered the ultimate knockout punch by registering 25 of the game's final 34 points en route to a 95-83 American Southwest Conference victory.
A monstrous 63-point second-half output was led by a blistering 59.46 percent overall field goal performance, converting on five-of-eight three-point attempts (62.5 percent) and going 77.78 percent at the free throw line (14-of-18).
