ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Men's Basketball had three high scorers against Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday evening, but UMHB proved to be too much offensively in a 104-74 loss in Belton.
The trio of junior forward DJ Worrell, freshman guard Matt Pena and junior guard Remy Minor combined for 56 points on the evening. Worrell collected his fourth double-double of the season with 20 points and 13 rebounds in the effort.
Pena finished with 19 points on five three-point baskets for a new career high in scoring. Pena was four triples away from tying a single-game record for made three-pointers in a game, but seemed to have the hot hand shooting 7-17 from the floor. Minor added 17 points and had a season-high eight assists.
On the other end, the UMHB offensive catalyst was Josiah Johnson, who recorded game highs of 33 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Johnson came into the night averaging a league-best 30.0 points per game.

Other notable performance for McMurry includes sophomore guard Rob Charles with eight points and four assists and junior Jordan Sherman with seven points and six rebounds.
