ORLANDO – McMurry University Men's Tennis bounced back from a close loss Monday night with a 6-1 win over the College of St. Scholastica Tuesday, defeating the Saints 6-1 at the USTA National Campus.

Joseph Diaz and Reid Smith won the only doubles match completed at number two, 8-1, before the lights went out in the facility causing the other two doubles matches to remain unfinished.

At number one singles, reigning ASC West Player of the Week Carlos Martinez added to his winning streak with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win. Behind Martinez at number two, Chase Daniell claimed at 6-4, 6-1 victory.

Zach Miller picked up a win at number three, 6-4, 6-0, while Smith won 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) at number four. At number five, Diaz picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win.

Trey Fambrough battled at number six, but came up short in a 6-4, 6-4 defeat.

McMurry is off until March 22, when Austin College visits the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center for the nonconference finale.
