ALPINE, Texas – McMurry University Men's Basketball suffered a 105-72 defeat to Sul Ross State Thursday night at the Pete P. Gallego Center in Alpine, Texas.
The War Hawks (7-15, 4-9 ASC) never led in the game, and shot 39.7 percent from the floor while the Lobos (14-8, 11-2 ASC) shot 46.6 percent.
McM kept it close in the opening minutes, trailing just 15-11 at the 14:23 mark of the first half after a layup by senior forward Mike Williams Jr. However, Sul Ross went on a 9-2 run to stretch the lead to double digits, and McM was only able to get it back to single digits once.
Senior forward Krishawn Terry led McMurry with 16 points and seven boards, while Williams chipped in 13 points. Freshman guard Cody LeBlanc added nine points.
All 11 players that entered the game for the War Hawks recorded a basket.
McMurry held a 43-42 advantage on the glass, as well.
The War Hawks will look to snap their losing streak and keep their postseason hopes alive Saturday when they travel to Howard Payne for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
