RICHARDSON, Texas – McMurry University Women's Tennis saw its season come to a close Friday afternoon, as host UT Dallas defeated the War Hawks, 5-0, in the American Southwest Conference semifinals.

The Comets (10-1) took the early lead, 3-0, after doubles and won the first two singles sets. The rest of the matches went unfinished with the contest already decided.

McMurry lost 8-3 at numbers one and three doubles and 8-1 at number two doubles. UTD then won at numbers one and three singles to complete the match.

Zayra Gomez fought hard at number five singles, falling 7-5 in set one before the match was unfinished.

The War Hawks closed the year at 10-9, advancing to the ASC Tournament for the first time since 2012.
