ABILENE, Texas – The McMurry women's tennis team fell to Division II Dallas Baptist University on Saturday by a 7-0 final at the Seidel-Swagerty Tennis Center.

Dallas Baptist (3-1) swept all three doubles matches for the early 1-0 lead (the match was conducted under the Division II scoring system).

The War Hawks (0-3) put up a great fight in the singles portion of the match. Top seed Samantha Ritz lost the first set by only one break, falling 6-4, 6-2, and Gabrielle Ellwanger also picked up four wins in the second set before falling 6-2, 6-4 at the three seed. Briana Perez mounted a tremendous rally in number six singles, taking the second set 6-3 after losing the opening set 6-0. She ultimately fell 10-4 in the third.

McMurry will return to action on February 16 when they play host to Southwestern University at 10 a.m.
