Women's Soccer concludes regular season at Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Soccer concludes the regular season Friday night, as the War Hawks travel across town to face Hardin-Simmons University. Kickoff for the season finale is set for 5 p.m. Live stats and video links will also be available at mcmurrysports.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: The War Hawks split their last two regular season home games, defeating Concordia Texas 1-0 before falling 1-0 to Mary Hardin-Baylor.

ASC HOME GAME: With the victory over Concordia, the War Hawks secured the right to host a quarterfinal match November 5 in the American Southwest Conference Tournament. The opponent is still to be determined.

3 or 4: McMurry will be either the third or fourth seed in the conference tournament. The War Hawks can claim the three seed with a win and a loss or tie by UT Dallas, or with a tie and a loss by the Comets. McM is the fourth seed if UT Dallas wins or matches the McM result.

ASC LEADERS: Freshman forward Alyssa Daily continues to lead the ASC in shots (74) and goals (11). Daily is fourth in points (24), while junior midfielder Sky Reynolds is 10th in points (17). Reynolds and junior defender Emily Fisher are tied for fifth in assists (5).

SEEING DOUBLE: McMurry has taken nearly double the number of shots than its opponents. The War Hawks have taken 326 shots, 158 on goal, while only allowing 81 shots on goal and 167 shots overall.

BETWEEN THE POSTS: Goalkeepers Jordan Gregory (.63) and Cindy Villasana (.66) rank fourth and fifth in the ASC in goals against average, respectively. For the season, McM keepers have a combined .60 goals against average, third best in the ASC.

SCOUTING HSU: The Cowgirls lead the conference at 13-2-1, 10-0 ASC and are on a 13-game winning streak. HSU leads the ASC in nearly every statistical category and features the top two point scorers in the league in Madelyn Dowell and Taylor Bernal.
