ABILENE, Texas – Following a 1-1 start and their first season-opening win as a member of NCAA III, McMurry University returns to the turf at Wilford Moore Stadium Wednesday for their home opener against University of the Southwest at 5 p.m.
In addition to hosting USW on Wednesday, McMurry hosts Jarvis Christian College Saturday at 11 a.m. before traveling to Texas Lutheran University Sunday at 2 p.m.

Last Week: The War Hawks defeated Austin College 4-1 Friday night before dropping a nonconference matchup at LeTourneau University, 4-0, on Saturday.
First time for everything: In defeating Austin 4-1 Friday, the War Hawks earned their first win over the Kangaroos in eight tries, and it was also the first season-opening win for McMurry as a NCAA III program.
Sky's the limit: Sophomore midfielder
Sky Reynolds scored two goals on five shots on goal in the win over Austin.
New War Hawks flying high: All four goals were scored by players making their War Hawks debuts: two from
Sky Reynolds – a transfer from UT Tyler – and a goal each from freshman defender

About University of the Southwest: The Mustangs are currently 0-2 in 2018. The War Hawks trail the Mustangs 1-8-1 in the all-time series, with the lone win coming in 2013.
About Jarvis Christian: The War Hawks are 4-0 all-time against the Bulldogs, having only allowed one goal in the series. McMurry won the previous meeting in 2015, 5-0. The Bulldogs are 1-1-1 on the young 2018 season.
About Texas Lutheran: The War Hawks are also looking to turn their fortune around against the Bulldogs, trailing the series 1-13-1. However, the win was in the previous meeting, a 4-2 McMurry victory in 2011. TLU is 1-0-1 this season following matches against two other American Southwest Conference foes.
