ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Soccer will begin 2018 on the road for the third consecutive season, as the War Hawks look to build on their four wins from a year ago.
Friday the War Hawks visit Austin College for the season opener at 6 p.m., before travelling to conference foe LeTourneau University Saturday night for a nonconference matchup at 7 p.m.

NOTES:
Last Season: The War Hawks finished 2017 4-14 overall, 1-11 American Southwest Conference, which placed them tied for 11
th. The four wins were a three-win improvement from the 2016 season.
Pre-Season Poll: McMurry was tabbed 10
th in the 2018 pre-season poll, receiving 96 points. That total was just a single point shy of ninth-place University of the Ozarks.
Players to Watch: Senior forward
Cristen Lumbreras, sophomore midfielder
Angelica Navarro and sophomore defender
Emily Fisher were named to the ASC Pre-season "Watch List." Navarro paced the War Hawks with eight goals and five assists, while Lumbreras chipped in seven goals. Fisher was second on the team with four assists.
About Austin College: Austin College has won all seven meetings between the War Hawks and Kangaroos, most recently 1-0 in 2017. The 'Roos went 4-14-1 overall, 3-8-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference last year.
About LeTourneau: McMurry is still seeking their first win against the Yellowjackets, trailing the all-time series 0-14-1. Last season, LeTourneau won 2-1 in double overtime. The Yellowjackets went 9-7-3, 5-5-2 ASC in 2017, losing in the opening round of the ASC tournament.
Head Coach Charles Nobles: Charles Nobles begins his second year at the helm of the War Hawks after a 4-14 record in his first season.
