ABILENE, Texas – McMurry University Women's Soccer completed the regular season with a 12-0 win over Southwestern Adventist University Sunday afternoon at Wilford Moore Stadium.
Sophomore midfielder Sky Reynolds led the War Hawks with three goals, scoring two of those goals in the first ten minutes. Freshman midfielder Ashland Hansen got the War Hawks on the board in in the second minute scoring on a rebound after a shot by sophomore midfielder Calista Flores.
Hansen also added a second goal within the first ten minutes. McMurry would add two more goals in the first half by senior midfielder Hannah Way and sophomore midfielder Brianna Pina.
McMurry added six more goals in the second half as the War Hawks were able to empty the bench early against the Lady Knights. Scoring second half goals for the War Hawks were Way, Reynolds, junior defenders Peyton Wood and Shelby Wood and two goals by sophomore forward Courtney Kendrick.
Nine different War Hawks recorded an assist, with senior forward Cristen Lumbreras and Kendrick each contributing two.
McMurry dominated defensively, holding the Lady Knights without a shot while taking 25 themselves, including 19 on goal.
Qualifying for the American Southwest Conference for the first time in program history, McMurry will visit Hardin-Simmons University Tuesday at 7 p.m.
