Lady Chaps Fight Past McM, 4-1

Box Score ABILENE, Texas – Lubbock Christian University scored two first-half goals en route to a 4-1 win over McMurry University Saturday afternoon in Heartland Conference action at Edwards Field.

Jessica Bailey scored five minutes into the first half and Ryann Blount scored at the 30-minute mark to give LCU (9-5, 6-0 Heartland) a 2-0 halftime advantage.

McM responded less than five minutes into the second half when Paige Harwell (Trophy Club, Texas / Northwest HS) found the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

Brooke Wendel and Coree Childree added goals late in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Anissa Arenas (Lubbock, Texas / Coronado HS) finished with a game-high seven saves.

McM (4-7-1, 1-4-1) plays host to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin Monday at 2:30 p.m.
