ABILENE, Texas – The McMurry women's soccer team ran into a tough test on Thursday afternoon when they hosted the Patriots of Dallas Baptist University. Four second-half goals proved to be the catalyst for DBU as they defeated the War Hawks 5-0 at Edwards Field.

Shelby Sova kept the Patriots at bay as she made seven saves in the half and the War Hawks saw themselves down just one at the half.
In the second half, DBU stepped on the gas pedal, tallying four goals in the second frame, including two by Danielle Presley to take the game by a 5-0 score.
Sova led the way for the War Hawks in the game, making 13-saves on the day, with six coming in the second half. As a team, the War Hawks were outshot by the Patriots by a total of 30-4.
McMurry will be back in action on Saturday, October 20 when they host the Hilltoppers of St. Edward's University. The contest is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.
