LeTourneau defeats McMurry, 4-0

LONGVIEW - LeTourneau's Kirby Posey scored her third and fourth goals of the season Saturday to help the Lady Yellow Jackets defeat McMurry 4-0 in American Southwest Conference women's soccer action.

LeTourneau scored two goals and each half and limited McMurry to just three shots on goal for the contest. Kim Cook led off the game in the 19th minute with a goal on an assist from Natalie White. Then, Posey knocked in her first goal of the match in the 34th minute on a set up from teammate Amanda De Leon.

De Leon then scored a goal of her own on an assist from Ashley Shepard in the 68th minute during the second half. Posey closed the scoring in the 82nd minute with Nicole Tammelin adding the assist.

In the loss, Bianca Van Osdol saved 10 shots for McMurry. The Lady Yellow Jackets fired 26 total shots and 14 were on goal. LeTourneau's Tammelin and Briana Redwine split the goalie duties with two and one saves respectively.

McMurry's Gracie Rodriguez had two shots and both were on goal while Heather Wood led the team with three total shots and the other shot on goal for McMurry. The visitors had two corner kicks while the Lady Yellow Jackets had eight.

McMurry fell to 0-5 on the season and moved to 0-2 in ASC competition while LeTourneau improved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.

McMurry will play host to Concordia-Texas Friday at Edwards Field with the ASC match scheduled to kickoff at 2 p.m.
