BROWNWOOD - Leslie Jones had a hat trick and five other Howard Payne Yellow Jackets scored on their way to an 8-0 victory over McMurry University Friday afternoon. Jones scored 42 seconds into the contest,
added HPU's third goal in the ninth minute and scored with 2:45 remaining to help lead HPU to its sixth win in American Southwest Conference play.

The Lady Yellow Jackets outshot McMurry 21-4 and prevented the visitors from scoring. The McMurry women have scored just one goal in its 10 conference matches and dropped to 0-9-1 on the season.

Shannon Costello, Alyssa Biere, Allison Harp, Allison Gudmundson and Amanda Jenkins also scored goals for HPU. Lauren Hankins, Susana Chavarria, Costello, and Jessica Baniewics each were credited with
assists while Karla Kallantar had two.

HPU improved to 7-6-2 overall and 6-3-2 in league play. McMurry will play Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton at 1 p.m. Saturday.
