SAN ANGELO, Texas -- The McMurry women's soccer team was shut out by Division II member Angelo State, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon at a rain-soaked ASU Soccer Complex.
The loss drops McMurry to 0-2 on the year; meanwhile, Angelo State improves to 3-2. McMurry will look to bounce back at 2 p.m. on Friday when they host Western Texas College for an exhibition match at Edwards Field.
The Rambelles first struck in the fifth minute of the match when Jennifer Bukowski put one in the back of the net from the right side of the goalie box. Angelo State would strike again just five minutes later as Skylar Searles scored off a cross from Christy Knaub to make it 2-0.
After Searles' goal, McMurry and Angelo State played an even match until just 10 seconds before the first half expired (44:50) when the Rambelles' LeShea Millard tacked on another goal for Angelo State to give them a 3-0 lead at the break.
The Rambelles would score one more goal in the second half to finish out the scoring. Angelo State out shot McMurry 27-1, with McMurry's lone shot coming from freshman defender
