ELSAH, Ill. - In the final day of the Liberal Arts Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Principia College Saturday, McMurry had two more individual wins on the women's side.
Amber Perkins won the 1,650-yard freestyle and
Erin Johnson won the 200-yard butterfly.
Both swimmers took considerable amounts of time off their preliminary swims. Perkins swam a winning time of 18:04.98, which was 25.60 seconds faster than her preliminary time on Friday. Johnson took a winning time of 2:12.90 cutting 5.42 seconds off her preliminary time to take the victory.
Alex Altstaetter, who won the 100-yard backstroke Friday, took a second-place finish Saturday with a time of 2:11.35 and finished 2.81 seconds off the leader.
On the men's side, senior
Craig Osterman finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.93 seconds.
McMurry's swim season concluded with the three-day meet that saw three women pick up individual wins. Altstaetter's 100-yard backstroke win Friday along with Perkins and Johnson's performance Saturday concluded the season on a positive note.
